ONCEUPONATIME - 3

Then it came to pass that when MaJun reached of Mature Age ( and that she did, albeit a little later than was normal for those her years: as if the imperial burden on her young shoulders suppressed her timely flowering..) she grew gradually sentient to a different calling of her body and spirit. She longed for something more than the tunes her best harpists could string, something other than the games with her fellow girls could provide, for something further than the contentment the flowers, the birds and the splendid setting sun could bestow.

Unable to comprehend the void that she often felt, even strangely, in happier circumstances.. Feeling newly impotent at this strange faceless nameless malady that inflicted her soul and seemed to eat into her heart.. Powerless to halt the copious flow of reasonless tears into her head-rest at nights.. our young princess ate less, slept less, sighed a lot, neglected her affairs and took to staring at empty spaces, endlessly rubbing thumb and forefinger or scratching, not particularly aesthetic patterns, on available surfaces.
