CHINA is a story of successful Communism.
Communism is a better option to develop a deprived people. It works and It is fast. Democracy is the indulgence of the rich. Run communism till a poor starving illiterate country is developed. Then balm democracy. Communism prods the material progress of a people – grants Basic Livelihood to ALL: Equally and speedily . Democracy safeguards individual freedom and permits the liberation of the mind. Food first, Free Thought later.
The discipline of communist China, infinite cheap labor, along with the explosion of technology and the Internet, propels china into a massive business over drive. Economy booms. Double booms. Its growth range hovers in the vicinity of 10 %. For the US its around 3 %. No prices for guessing who will be dictating on Wall Street or Dows-Nasdaq in 25 years.
(At this rate of phenomenal growth and prosperity, China could be the richest and most powerful country in the world in the near future. She could dictate world politics and maybe even culture, much like America has done for the last 50 years.)
He who has money has all. China would soon have more money than the US. The US plans and efforts to control world oil would be redundant if China has all the money. The US now has no other option but to CRIPPLE China. And soon. Cripple its economy. Cripple its growth. And hope this overtake does not happen.
China is no cake walk. She is Huge. She is too large and too mighty to be coerced or contained. A military option is the final and only possible way to effectively cripple her. Its an all out high stakes option. Costly, apocalyptic. But the US has none other.
The US is an ocean away from China. It needs land bases in the vicinity. Japan is an US ally. The US has also befriended the Taiwan government and secretly encourages Taiwanese enmity with the Chinese. In the hour of need, US aims to use Japan and Taiwan to attack China. But not good enough. China is a sea belt away from Japan or Taiwan.
THE KOREAN STAKEOUT: The Korean Peninsula is an ideal god (of war? Mars, then.) given location to the US, to invade or violate China. South Korea has long been fostered as an American ally. She already has US military presence. But North Korea is in the way. North Korea is traditionally anti-US. No point of an US army in South Korea if it cant physically move into China though North Korea.
The earlier US logic was, when push comes to shove, if and when its military wanted to go into China from South Korea, the US would just bulldoze its way through North Korea and into Chinese mainland. After all North Korea is kept starved (thru sanctions) and militarily weak just for this eventuality.
The plan seemed workable, until… the North Koreans developed their own nukes and surprised the world. Now if US tries to bulldoze or bully North Korea, the cornered North Koreans would retaliate with nuclear weapons, and that’s a scary prospect even for the Americans.
But why is China making only token noises when the US which is a world away is raising a hue and cry over North Korean nukes: China is a giant which has awoken to realize its mind and might. She is now aware of her chances to wield global power. The Chinese too have scripted their future in world affairs and have secretly played their futurist war games towards world domination. China knows well that the only reason the US had bases in South Korea is to use them against her some day; also the only way the US could successfully launch a land attack into China is through South and North Korea.
So the Chinese counter strategize: China discreetly encourages North Korea to make the nuke. Having done that, it has successfully stalemated US plans of bulldozing into North Korea and using her as an eventual launching pad for invading China.
The Chinese plans most probably go much deeper. Koreans are after all people of Chinese origin. China would plan to encourage both the Koreas to reunite within the next 50 yrs and then eventually integrate it with the Chinese mainland in the next 100 yrs. Taiwan is already constitutionally under Chinese government and its only a matter of time before China takes over Taiwan or develops a mass friendly Taiwan to enable unison with the mainland. Takes 25-50 years max.
Japan is the only other ally the US has. When it comes to an all out war, Japan would play neutral, rather than risk the nuclear wrath and possible geographic and demographic annihilation in the hands of its mighty neighbor. Also cultural similarities with China might make the Japs unreliable to the US in the hour of reckoning (The japs can never erase Hiroshima/Nagasaki out of their psyche. They are just playing war-weary-wise-gentlemen now and cheering the Americans for the sake of good business.).
India is an US option, after all India shares a vast border with China in the East. The nuke co-operation signed between US-India is the PR face of such a nascent arrangement. But the US knows that India is overtly non aligned and wouldn’t be in a rush for a war which is not directly in her interests.
Now the US has no land fronts to invade China. To the hawkish military strategists in the Pentagon this is a dire situation. After having almost covered half the run for global dominance (i.e., the Oil Plot), the US finds all its plans for the second half going dangerously amok. Just because the weeny little junta regime in starving North Korea dared to pre-empt the mighty Americans.
The US now runs helter-skelter, trying to get North Korea back to being non-nuclear and at least preserve the old status quo. They would re-focus all energies to this once they extricate themselves out of the mess that is Iraq/Iran.
If North Korea / China gets the better of the US in this, the US will have no other feasible plan to control/contain China this century; thus doomed to fail in its neocon-plan to achieve PERPETUAL FULL SPECTRUM GLOBAL DOMINANCE.
The United States finds that time is running dangerously short..
